Traditionally used to supplement our daily calcium requirements.
Calcium is the fifth most abundant mineral in our bodies. An adult person has approximately 1,250 grams of calcium, 99% of which can be found in bones and the remaining 1% is located in intra- and extracellular fluids.
Therapeutic indications and uses
An adequate calcium intake is required for the development of the skeleton during the growth period and for the maintenance of healthy bones and teeth during adulthood. An appropriate vitamin D intake is required in order for calcium to be absorbed by the body.
Each tablet contains:
- Calcium carbonate (equivalent to 475 mg of calcium) 1360 mg
- Vitamin D 200 U.I.
- Excipients: maltodextrin, sodium starch glycolate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, talc, magnesium stearate, black iron oxide.
Children under 12 years of age: take one tablet a day at breakfast.
Adults: take one tablet at breakfast and one tablet at dinner.
The recommended dosage for children exceeds the RDI (recommended daily intake) of calcium for children under 9 years of age, but it does not exceed NOAEL levels (no observed-adverse-effect level), and provides 100% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin D. The recommended dosage for adults exceeds the RDI of vitamin D, but does not exceed the NOAEL level.
Regarding dosage for adults, this product might cause toxic effects due to the accumulation of fat-soluble vitamin D. Do not resume taking this product without consulting your health care provider.
Hypersensitivity to the components found in this product. People suffering from chronic renal disease, hyperparathyroidism or ulcers must consult their health care providing before taking this product.
